Put it this way, the Hong Kong Bar has something for just about everybody this week. New Entertainment Format The Slate Bros.

Club on La Clenega Is open again after a summer's breather this time with a different enter tainment format. Four comedians and a comedienne-singer work individually and together in sketches, routines and blackouts. i As can be imagined, the first show or two were marvels of confusion but the idea is sound for an intimate ttte-spot likes the Slates' bistro. Several peers of the entertainers have dropped in already to enjoy the fun, including Milton Berle, Jan Murray and Allen and Rossi. The four comedians are Jerry Lester, Mickey Man ners, Sid Gould and Eddie Hanley.

Allison McKay represents the distaff side. Informality is the key to this type of show, with each of the performers offering his comedy "schticks," most of which are familiar to old-timers but amusing, nonetheless, If there's a "star," it's veteran Jerry Lester, although Mickey Manners, a fast-rising comedian, runs him a good race. Miss McKay, a familiar figure on the Playboy Club circuit, has some diverting business and sings a couple of times. For several years, Billy Gray operated his Band Box successfully on much the same format. Henry Slate is hoping the idea catches on again with the public.
