Point Conception to Mexican Border: Variable winds 4 to 8 knots night and early mroning, hours becoming west to northwest 12 to 22 knots this afternoon and 8 to 18 knots Tuesday afternoon. WESTERN WEATHER SUMMARY The remains of a weak weather front extend from Wyoming southwestward through the southern tip of Nevada and into the Pacific near the Mexican Border.

The is moving eastward and becomIng diffuse. A ridge of high pressure is building inland over Northern California and Oregon into Northern Nevada. The ridge extends westward through high center of 1030 millibars located about 700 miles west of San Francisco. A deep low center near Cold Bay, Alaska, is moving east northeastward. Variable cloudiness prevails along the west coast with few light showers along the extreme Southern California section and from Northern Ore- gon north.

NATIONAL WEATHER SUMMARY Wrightwood TEMPERATURES AND PRECIPITATION OVER THE NATION SUNDAY Precipi- Warm air out of the South Atlantic and gulf source regions overspread the nation's midsection Sunday while to the west surge of cool Pacific air advanced rapidly eastward toward the Rockies. The forward edge of the cool air was marked Idaho by. rain and showers extending from and Montana down through Utah into Southern California Southern Florida, East Texas and portions of Arkansas and Louisiana experienced thunderstorms, few of which deposited locally heavy rainfall. In the northeast a cool Canadian airmass maintained its hold on the North Atlantic states. Frost is forecast: for northern New England and the normally cooler inland places of southern New England, New Jersey, New York State and Eastern Pennsylvania.

Unseasonably warm in the 80s ranged northward as far as the Dakotas, Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Ohio Valley region. The 90s returned to the Gulf Coast and southern plains and the arid, southwest while contrasting coldness the 40s appeared over Northern Maine and higher elevations of the interior northwest. The tropical depression noted this morning in the Southeastern Bahamas has moved very little since then and maximum winds remain at 30 to 35 miles per hour. 11 will be watched closely for any future development.
