In 1965 he produced the comedy-adventure "I Spy," which co-starred Bill Cosby, one of television's first black leading men. "I could feel the support, and that was very important," Cosby recalled in 1988. Leonard was still working in his 80s, producing "I Spy Returns," a 1993 CBS movie that reunited the show's stars. He once said "chronic dissatisfaction" led to his wide-ranging career.

"Somebody said, 'If you don't like the way we're doing it, why don't you do it and the next thing I knew I was a director," he recalled. "From there I became a producer, from being chronically dissatisfied with directors." He won five Emmys and had 18 Emmy nominations. He served on the national board of the Directors Guild for 39 years and was inducted into the television academy's Hall of Fame in recognition of his achievements in 1992. He was born Sheldon Leonard Bershad on Feb. 22, 1907, in New York City and was educated at Syracuse University.

After a stage career, he moved to Hollywood. With his dapper good looks 6 feet tall, dark eyes and hair he found ready work as a kind of sly, Damon Runyon gangster. Leonard is survived by his wife, Francis, son Stephen Bershad, daughter Andrea Bershad and four grandchildren. Funeral services were scheduled for Monday in Los Angeles. She was 96. Pierre died Jan. 2 at her home in Encino of cardiac arrest while she was recuperating from a stroke suffered three months ago. Born in Chicago, Pierre was the daughter of a sculptor and grew up surrounded by art and artists.

She began dancing with Fokine when she was 16 and went on to study acting and perform in several stage productions. She moved to Los Angeles after marrying Jacques J. Pierre, a theatrical producer and manager. She became the West Coast representative for the American Dancer, Viewpoints and Dance magazines. From 1938 to 1942, she created, edited and published the Journal of Educational Dance.

Pierre's vast collection of written materials on dance was given to the Beverly Hills Library in 1974. She served as publicist for the Los Angeles' Greek Theatre the Huntington Hartford theaters, the Southern California Symphony Hollywood Bowl the Los Angeles Free Shakespeare Festival and the Los Angeles Ballet. He was also an accomplished musician and composer with over 12 album releases of his music. He was a life -long student of the Teachings of the Ageless Wisdom. Hia work emphasized spiritual values and principles useful for daily hvmg. Dr. Saraydarian lived his life in service for the upliftment of others, giving people the wisdom and tools for conquering the obstacles and challenges that each faces in life.

Dr. Saraydarian was an example of what he taught. His humility, wisdom, striving, fearlessness, ana love shine in the hearts and minds of those who have known him. He is survived by his wife, Joann. He is also survived by five children.

He achieved a B.S. in Engineering and worked in design and composites, research and development, and was acUve in the Skunk Works'. Dale retired from Lockheed in 1990.

A resident of North Charleston, South Carolina, Mr. Sims was born June 25, 1931 in Chester, South Carolina, son of Stark Mijaman Sims Jr. and Fannie Haile Betts Sims. He was a Navy veteran and graduate of the University of South Carolina (Columbia) in 1958.

He and his wife, the late Joan Bates Sims, resided in the Redondo Beach, California area from 1969 to 1989. Mr. Sims was a retired electrical engineer with TRW Corp. and a member of the Cherokee United Methodist Church, North Charleston. Surviving are his sons, C.

Randolph Sims, Jr. of Salt Lake City. Utah and Richard Ernest Sims of Columbia, South Carolina; his mother of Eastover, South Carolina: brother, Stark Mijaman Sims III of Tampa, Florida; sisters, Frances S. Kinsey and Katherine S. Marks, both of Eastover, his mother-in-law, Helen Brown Bates of North Charleston; four grandchildren.
